My dad and I were out at the shooting range for his birthday. He had just gotten a new rifle and he was super excited to check it out. We went to the shop and bought our bullets, then went out to the shooting area. He was having a hard time loading the gun since it was so new to him, but he eventually got a few bullets in the thing. Then, as he turned to shoot, he hit the barrel on one of the separaters. Instead of letting it drop out of his hands like he should have, he reached and tried to catch it before it hit the ground. Apparently he wasn’t too keen on messing up his new toy. As he grabbed it, he must have squeezed the trigger back because before I knew it I heard a shot ring out. a puff of dust rose up between my legs and I realized that he had discharged the gun and the bullet had gone about a foot south of my groin and 6-inches to the left of my foot. I guess in the end I was lucky that we didn’t get him a shot gun because I’d probably be limping around without genitals at this point if we had.
