Trigger Man
Distributor: GameCube
Release Date: 9/28/2004 12:00:00 AM

The skinny:
The twisted morality governing the Mafia condones ripping men apart with a chainsaw as retribution for attacking your family or for serving a pizza made from prefab Boboli pie crust. Not a great way to live, but it's a code. The same set of mores governs Trigger Man. Your boss, Don Coladangelo, is under attack from the rival Montagano family. It's up to you, his number-one assassin, to permanently silence your boss' critics and take the Italian-American mobster stereotype to new heights. To ratchet up the Italian flavor, play the game with a meatball in your mouth.

Tantalizing tidbit:
The game combines stealth elements with brute force. Hell, Trigger Man even has a Knife Cam that lets you steer your blade through the air after throwing it. We thought that made as much sense as Clay Aiken's post-Idol career, too.

Buy, rent or run away screaming?
Even though it only costs $20, rent before you buy, or you might end up whacking yourself out of your own misery.
