Painkiller: Battle out of Hell (Expansion Pack)
Distributor: Dreamcatcher
Release Date: 11/14/2004 12:00:00 AM

The skinny:
Heaven's favorite hitman, Daniel Garner, gets another chance to rev up the holy chaingun in the expansion pack for the original Painkiller. Despite bitch-slapping Beelzebub, you now have to fight your way out of Hades, thus the snappy title. Dreamcatcher added 10 new single-player levels even more expansive than the maps found in the original. Take havoc to new levels with weapons like a machine gun–flamethrower combo. It's a little easier than taking on the minions of hell with just a sling but, hey, God has bigger issues to worry about than video games.

Tantalizing tidbit:
You need the original Painkiller game to play the expansion pack. If you want to wait till the holiday season, you can pick up both the original and the expansion in the Painkiller: Black Edition.

Buy, rent or run away screaming?
If you own the original, not buying the extra levels would make you a sinner. Now, stop treating your body like a carnival ride.
