…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead bring the fury of their onstage destruction to their new album, Worlds Apart, with epic songs that build from piano plinks to thunderous drum storms. (Carry an umbrella when you listen to it.) Melodic and boisterous, the acronym-friendly AYWKUBTTOD augment their artistry with bleats and squeaks that'll leave you searching for a can of WD-40. Like true rebels, the band members are too jaded and disaffected to care about the Swan-style makeover they give rock. "What's the future of rock 'n' roll/I say, I don't know/Does it matter?" Yes. No. Maybe?
